Public Records

The explicit mandates of Judiciary Law Sections 44(4) and 45 render most Commission records and proceedings confidential. When the Commission determines to discipline a judge publicly, however, the record of the proceedings becomes public. Such records are available to the public, by appointment, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, at any of the Commission's three offices. Arrangements may be made through Marisa Harrison, the Records Access Officer, at inforequest@cjc.ny.gov.

FOIL requests for records maintained by the Commission must be submitted in writing to the Commission’s Records Access Officer. Please be as specific as possible in describing the records you seek. Requests can be mailed, faxed or emailed.
