Matter of James D. LaPiana

New Commission Member Appointed

Angela M. Mazzarelli, an Associate Justice of the Appellate Division, First Department, has been appointed to the Commission by Chief Judge Janet DiFiore for a term to commence July 1, 2017. Justice Mazzarelli succeeds Presiding Justice Rolando T. Acosta of the Appellate Division, First Department, who served on the Commission since 2010.

Judge Ayres has requested review of the determination in the Court of Appeals. Briefs will be filed and the Court will schedule the matter for oral argument.
